Hi all,

I just wanted to share this project I've just finished in my house.
I reconverted one of my unsused water troughs into something a lot more enjoyable.
It's been my biggest DIY project, most of the materials (bar a few 2x4 and sheets of roofing felt) were collected over a period of a few years from friends, fellow jumbletowners, skips, building sites leftovers etc...

I've done this with no previous building experience. All the information I gather on how to do this was from the internet.

I put more photos and full story on my site:

thanks
Ollie

Wow Oliver, very very impressive! For someone who has no building experience you've done a marvelous job. You should be very proud of it. Well done.

finishing touches.
I got some blocks of kingspan insulation foam from a local building site ( I asked the guys working there if they had any leftovers and i ended up with 4 full sheets) and fully insulated the roof.

I then made a small unit with wood leftovers and broken tiles. handy to store the towels and a few fresh cans ... and a little home made mural painting.

Wow what an incredible transformation! I love wathcing projects such as these come togtehr, programmes like Grand Designs always inspire me to to start doing a new project. We have some friends who have recently converted a barn in the South of France into their new home, its amazing what you can do with a bit of tlc. It was in ruins before with bats flying around, no windows or doors and now it a beautiful 4 bedroom house in the scenic wine valley. :) I must try find some photos for this restoration, Id really like to share it all with you.

This is incredible,
I wish I had the space to do this!
How's it working out? Do you use it a lot?
Are you opening it up to fellow jumbletownies to try out ?! heeheehee
