I tried removing them once.. tried to peel them off was left with the glue & paper. soaked the paper to get it off.

WD40 dissolves the sticky stuff, soak it and then rub it in and it should dissolve.
then use detergent to wash off the WD40 residue and smell.

Hi,
best bet in this case, is to use surgical spirit. You can buy it in a pharmacy (not expensive @ all) & works really well.

Good luck.

Hiya, Squirrel, I use my hob scraper to get most of the excess off, then use washing up liquid and vinegar to get the remainder of glue residue off, always works for me! Good luck!

white spirits or nail polish remover will get it off easily.

I read recently that vodka removes sticky tape from surfaces. I haven't tried it myself but it might just do the job.

One of the 'foreign' supermarkets occasionally sells 'sticky stuff remover', either in little wipes, or in a can. But its only available from time to time.
Other than that, I'd try white spirit.
