We are looking for families to take part in Living Lightly, a new
television series for RTÉ.

In the current economic times with salaries falling, jobs at risk and banks
no longer willing to lend money, many families who have learned to worship
at the altars of our shopping centres are having to dramatically alter
their consumer ways!

Living Lightly is a six part television series about the tough times we are
living in, it is about embracing thrift and trying to live a better life on
less much less! The good times are over and now it is time for ‘The Good
Life’

With the help of experts our families will learn how to spend less, how to
waste less and to have a good time doing it. We will look at what we need
vs simply want and for those things that we need we will give all sorts of
practical tips and advice on how to get second hand, barter, borrow, make
your own or even grow your own. Have you heard of swishing; couch surfing,
the Barter Exchange? Are you willing to dig up your lawn and plant
vegetables? Do you want to save money and have more time with your family?

Living Lightly is about three families being creative in getting the things
they need in their day to day lives and learning more about the community
they living in and the resources that are available.

Being thrifty makes you feel good about yourself and that is something you
can’t buy!.

We are looking for families who have become or will become redundant this
year or whose income has been reduced and who need to cut spending
immediately.
