Hi,

I actually got this at an auction for only €2. Part of the back was missing but I love anything retro and it was mainly the handle on the front that made me buy it. It's been sitting around for about a year and a half now and I finally got to it.

I blew up a scan of a playing card and pieced the copied pieces together. I painted the front of the door whithe and by running pencil over the back of the picture I had my own "carbon paper" so i drew over the picture and transferred the image to the locker door and painted it. I cut a piece of wood to fit the back and then painted the whole thing. I think I should have done the inside of the top shelf white though. ah well ;)

Hi Melissa, this is fabulous. you always do such complicated upcycles that leave me feeling very inadequate. I think the shelf is perfect black--nothing takes from the focal point ie the playing card. Is the queen for your side of the bed and are you going to do a King for himself? LOL

Super job. Agree with Eibhlin, it's lovely black and yes, you should do the King!!

Great job, you must have great patience to do such a complicated picture transfer!
