Definitely wouldn't say so.
Thought only paper and tetra packs went in there.
Think you have to bring bulbs to the Bring Centre.

Hi jenniferalan,

No glass should be put in the Green Bin.

Bottles should be brought to your nearest Bottle Bank. Details here:

Light bulbs should be brought to Galway City Council's Recycling Centre, which is located in the Liosbaun Industrial Estate. Details here:

Just incase anyone in applicable regions are reading, glass can go in green bins provided by panda as well as small electrical items which is very handy :) glass/electric=lightbulb... but I'm not sure..

Bulbs

Just bring the bulb with you when you go to buy the new one. The outlet is obliged to take it off you as they have just likely charged you 50cent towards the Producer Recycling Fund (PRF) to do so on the new bulb.

If you don't bring back your electric items you're giving someone free money.

It's all at http://www.weeeireland.ie/

light bulbs

Love the idea of bringing them back!! Next time I go to Dunnes I'm bringing my old bulbs back!! By the way I just found out today you can bring your old phone chargers back to the shops as well!

cormie 21-01-2009 12:42 PM

Before you go to Dunnes with all your old lightbulbs, be aware because as far as I know, they will only take one for every new bulb you buy. So you can't give in 10 bulbs if you're only buying one new one.

Cormie is right its a 'Quid pro quo' arrangement .

Thanks
