If you google this some info comes up relating to powering a bike with a washing machine motor but table saws are mentioned. I don't know if there's any info there that you are looking for as I didn't understand most of the technical terms.

We made a wirebrush and grindstone from one of those a few years back and it is even more powerful than the factory type ones.It seized up eventually due to lack of use but lasted years.

I dont see why it shouldnt work for a table saw even if only used for plywood etc....You need to make sure there is a safety cut off switch and a guard around any shaft in case anything gets wrapped around it and just mind your fingers eh?

Curious to hear how you are getting on with your project.

My research seem to point to the need for 3 hp for a table saw. Any washing machine motors i found had max 1/2 hp output.

What size blade / number of teeth were you thinking about?
