That's fantastic. Did you take a course in this or does it just come naturally? Seriously. That's a brilliant job. It's so good to take something old and give it a completely new lease of life and make it into a family heirloom all over again.

Thanks everyone for all the lovely comments - Bluecurlygirl, Thanks for the nice comments too, no, I didn't do a course, I did a good bit of research and my son gave me a book on upholstery etc. A friend actually picked up the material for me, she saw it somewhere and knew it was exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks again,
;)

Well if you could do that from reading a book and bit of research you obviously have a natural talent. Maybe you could find yourself a little side line in these tight times!! I'm sure others could do with your talent too. Well done.

What a beautiful job! Well done to you. It must be deeply satisfying to just sit in front of that and say "I'm responsible for that!" - you should give workshops!! Congrats! :)

Dear Eily,

Just skimming through my lastest issue of House & Home magazine and said to myself "I recognise that fireplace"!!! The house looks beautiful and its a credit to you and your family. Well done!!
It's a pity the mag didn't show your 'before' photos, so their readers could get an idea of the amount of work, thought and invention you really put into the place.

Well done again. An ambassador for all of us Jumbletowners.

Best regards,

Unadi
