Cleaning Porcelain Dolls-need Advice

I Have About Five Porcelain Dolls, And Was Wondering If Anyone Could Tell Me The Best Way To Clean Them. The Clothes Cannot Come Off But They Need To Be Washed As They Are Old And Discoloured From Being In The Window..........maybe Someone Would Know How To Restore Them, If I Can Get Them Clean I Might Put One On This Site, Thanks, Carol.

For dust, gentle make -up remover wipes might work but I'm not entirely sure on this.

Hi,

I would blow as much dust off with a hairdryer first then brush with a soft brush - paint brush is good - I wouldnt recommend wetting the clothes or the hair the clothes are probably quite faded. You might try carefully cleaning the faces with a cotton bud very gently with just water first and maybe a little washing up liquid - nothing stronger as the paint may be very fagile. You could give the dolls hospital in Georges Street, Dublin 2 a call - they are very helpful.

I hope this is helpful,
