Hi Smudge, I had this problem on patio and I just used the normal shampoo recommended for power washer. As far as I know it doesn't contain any chemicals that are harmful to animals as I have a little dog and would be careful too what I would use. Hope this helps.

hi i had a problem with moss on my tarmacadam drive, i used ordinary washing up powder, just sprinkle on affected area and let the rain (if we ever get any!) do the rest..

moss

A rake is the answer - the springy type you use for dead leaves is best. You can rake the moss out without damaging the grass!

Just a note on the moss on the barn - I have been lucky enough to borrow a friend's power washer (so obviously one washes just about everything in sight). Our house is VERY old and there is moss EVERYwhere - I never used anything other than the water coming from the washer. It cleaned off what must be nearly 200 years worth of moss in very short order. I even washed off the green slimy stuff that comes before the moss and (though it takes MUCH longer) it cleaned the slate tiles in the courtyard beautifully. My son came out to give the dog his breakfast and came running inside to tell me it looks like we have a NEW courtyard! All the green is gone! :o)

Just plain high powered water is all.
