I store mine under the mattress- I just lie them out flat on divan/ wooden slats and pop the mattress back ontop. Then they are all in the right bedrooms when you need to put them back on the bed...

baking soda

try mixing some baking soda with water and run the paste onto wood.
Hairspray might work either, spray some onto cotton wool and rub over marker-ive used this on walls before but not wood.

My washing machine started spurting water out through the drawer, I rang the repair guy and hed told me hed call the following week(not a possibility in my house) I googled it...

nail varnish remover

use a little nail varnish remover and a blade for any stubborn bits
