Council landfills very often have also a recycling centre. At least Carlow and Kilkenny have. There is a separate entrance to the recycling centre and a visit costs between €2 and €3.50. You can recycle many things: all types of household appliances, paper, cardboard, polystyrene, glass bottles and cans, timber, iron, plastic containers, tetra pack, batteries, plate glass, clothes and shoes, etc etc . It varies from Council to Council.
