Get compressed wood logs, think there called maxi therm, I find them great to burn, long to last, good on price, get hard wood logs not soft wood, once they're 'dark' looking they should be good, the 'lighter' compressed ones burn very quick, there's also hexagonal small logs with a hole in centre, these also burn very quick, also found strogs not very good. I've been burning the maxi therm for a few years in a stove and get great heat out of them, you get into a system of how to light them quick and then keep them going.its also a bit cheaper to buy in bulk,
