You can paint it with stain block before you repaint the damaged area. This comes in a small tin to paint on or there is a spray on version. If these are too expensive, gloss paint can also be used. Paint the stain with white gloss paint which is oil based so stain won't show through. When dry, paint with white emulsion. The reason stain keeps showing through is because emulsion is water based.
