Default Snails and slugs in garden

Hi Alexmurray, sorry for the last post. Was a bit giddy. I was watching a gardening show on TV this week and they said beer works well and is humane. They also talked about pot plants and containers and said there is a very thin copper with sticky back, that comes in a roll from good garden centres. didn't say how much but they said that it is good as the snails and slugs get some type of electric reaction when they try to go on it. It just peels back and sticks around the pots. I am going to find out how much it is and hope it works. My decking is covered with slugs every night and I madly go around collecting them in a jar and put them on an old building site as I can't bear to do anything else with them. Not sure if pellets are dangerous to birds and pets? Marhen
