My name is Auntie Litter Bug and I have joined the Environment Team in Louth to help promote environmental awareness and, in particular Litter Awareness. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible as I travel around the county.
I was designed by a young student from Dun Lughaidh School in Dundalk as part of a "Design a Character" competition organised by Louth Local Authorities and sponsored by MKIR Panasonic. I am available for school visits and to help with clean ups — to make arrangements just contact the Environment Section, Louth County Council.
I have no doubt that many of you have great ideas for improving the litter problem and I would really love to hear about them — please write to me with your suggestions, poems, slogans, etc. C/O Environment Section or e-mail me at
environment@louthcoco.ie In the meantime please promise to work with us as we try to get to grips with litter and remember never, ever throw litter — it is a €125 fine EVERY time.
