Hi my mother would allways use baking soda mixed with water and washing up liquid.
One tea spoon mixed with 1L of water and a little bit of washing up liquid to make it stick to the leafs, she used a small garden sprayer, or a old empty surface cleaner bottle. hope this helps................

By you don't want to use spray, i take that as you don't want to use chemicals..

A solution of milk and water works, two tablespoons of milk to a litre of water, really helped my roses but do cut off damaged leaves these will not recover and reinfect new leaves.
