Hi demps,

We allow ads/items to remain on the listings for several weeks or even months in the hope that that someone, somewhere wants it...some time. Removing these ads might only encourage the Giver to prematurely recycle the item or send it to landfill, which is what we're trying to discourage. So, as long as the Giver is willing to hang on to the item till a Taker is found, we're generally willing to continue carrying the ad. We do, however, restrict the Wanted forum to 50 pages, so we regularly delete ads from this forum.

Clicking on the "Status" button at the top of the "Available/Reserved/Taken" column on the listings allows you to see all Available items or Taken items in a row.

Members can sort items by date: Please see the "Thread Display Options" at the bottom left of each of the listings pages. Alternatively, Members can click on the "Advanced Search" button directly beneath the Log-in box. A new page/window opens up. In the "Search Options" box (bottom left), you can select options such as "Sort Results by Thread Start Date," which is configured as "Last two days", "Last Week" etc.

As for putting on the new stuff, this has nothing to do with Admin -- it's all up to the Members to list whatever items they wish to pass on. Some days are busy in this regard, others aren't. Admin has no way of determining when Members are going to post an item on the Forum.

Oh! Well, we leave some Taken ads at the bottom of each of the listings because they show newcomers the Giving and Taking process from the Giver's initial post, through the "expressions of interest" stage, and then onto the final stage where the ad is locked and marked as "Taken." Also, key-words in these ads help to pull in the Google ads which pay for the hosting of JumbleTown on the Internet.
