Bamboo ID needed!

Hi, this beaut specimen was given to me by a jumbletowner JoJoDub and i really would love to know what it is:

it is tall, roof height, what is in the pics is the cluster of sprouting leaves at about waist height, it then has sent up shoots further, more spindly and has leaves at the top, less dense but not too sparse either but defo not nearly so dense as ones shown here.

the part where a shoot goes off to form another branch there is a dark green part, the rest of the stems are beige bamboo colour.
the leaves are large not at all like the specimens i have seen recently in garden centres.

I just love this 'animal' of a bamboo, dont worry it is well contained!

where can i look to find out what this bamboo type is?

Hi Minnie
I have been trying to identify your bamboo, from the height and what I can see of the stems, it might be a Chusquea. I will keep searching and hopefully get a positive identification.

Can I just ask a few questions, does the brown part of the stem peel off and leave green underneath. Are the stems hollow or solid and how thick are they?

So Sumersun was right, get Etana to ID!!!!
will google that and see if the id fits, once i have this its more likely that i will know what i see, if you see what i mean, yikes didnt put that well eh?

forgot to answer your questions, at pres dont know, will have to 'examine' the specimen closer! they are about a two cent piece thick or less and i think they may be actually solid.
the leaves are at least six inches long, and spikey as you would expect and solid green.
a few yellow leaves have appeared and i am fearful, hope this is gonna make the transplant, i have no imuran around at present (thats an anti rejection med!

NO IT doesnt seem to be a 'clumper' its more of a traveller.

I took some more pics this late afternoon and i will try and get them up here later.
The tops of each stem seem to fan out with smaller stems, just like a fan at the end of which is a rosette of long pointy leaves, about six or even longer.
I looked up the group you have suggested. It more or less is very tropical and this plant I do not think would have survived our climate to get to the height it has.
I may be wrong, forgot to see if it was hollow or not. will tomorrow. promise.
