Default removing chewing gum & red wine

Help!! My daughter had her 21st party at the weekend and a couple of my lovely chairs got messed up. What is the best way to remove chewing gum off fabric? Also red wine when it has soaked/dried in?

Default Hi

Hi Eibh

Glad party went well!!! Iv used this on a very delicate top so should be ok on chairs. Heat some white vinegar in microwave or saucepan then put it on chewing gum. It should peel straight off.

As I said i used this on my best silk top and nearly cryed with relief when it worked so well. Just washed top then and its perfect.

Hope it works ok for you let me know if you try it.

Good Luck
Triona

Default chewing gum

Thanks for your hints everyone. Used vinegar to clean off chewing gum, worked a treat. Cleaned the wine stain with non-bleach detergent ie washing up liquid and it's grand. I used a hair dryer to dry the seats of the chairs so I wouldn't get water/tide marks. They're as good as new now. Eibh.
