Default New Shower Thanks to WinniePooh

Hi,
took on my 2nd tiling job ever by ripping out my en-suite shower. I hated the tiles but someone else loved them and took them away :) I used white tiles that I got really cheap on Adverts but I needed some black tiles to tile it in with the decor of the rest of the room. I was really sick at the time and even though I was offered some by a very kind Jumble towner I couldn't travel to meet her.
WinniePooh came to the rescue and off her own bat drove top Athy to get the tiles for me and dropped them to my house!!!!!!!!!!!
I started ripping out the tiles just before Christmas. The tiles were quite big so I cut each one into 4 so they were more of a brick shape and made up the design as I went along.

Also when I took out the tiles more evidence of the shoddy building work that went on in the Celtic Tiger showed up, they only put plaster board down as far as the top of the shower tray and did it in a small strip so when I ripped opff the tiles I was let with a nice big hole. I used timber from a dismantled pallet and made it to fit and nailed it in place :)

I ran out of black tiles and for €10 i bought some small square black ones which I cut into 9 seperate squares each and made a rectangular design to high light the shower wall. It was tough going as no matter how hard you try hand cut tiles are never the exact same size!!!

Well here it is just before I put the shower door back on. Again a huge Thank You to WinnierPooh and her kindness :)

Default shower

Hi Melissa, well done on your new shower. 'You are some woman for one woman!!' When you get an idea there is no stopping you. Well done to Winniepooh for her generosity in collecting the tiles for you. That is what I love about Jumble Town--the community spirit--and people interested in each others projects and willing to help. Eibhlin.
