Default a new dress from 40yr old curtains

It's my first attempt at sewing since school, so please don't expect great things lol! A few months ago my aunt gave me this material, it was originally destined to be curtains in a nursery. She was having a clear out, found it and passed it on to me. My little one loves the cat in the material, so my first mistake was not having a cat in the front of the dress, but for a first attempt, I'm happy enough (think I've been bitten by the sewing bug.......)
Thanks for looking x

Great job, looks good on. Nice touch with the red buttons.
Of course now that you've started you won't be able to stop ;o)

Thanks to everyone who commented, I have definitely been bitten with the sewing bug, and my little one is only too happy to get new clothes, she is already into dresses, handbags, shoes, and most importantly flowers in her hair! We're having great fun x

Thank you all for commenting, I've since added a pocket on the front with a cat, and my little one has insisted on wearing it all weekend. Best compliment I could have recieved! x

Default lovely old fabric into dress

lovely fabric, if the cat she wanted was the one with the ball, i can see why, but a pocket was the perfect solution, i still like pockets in my dresses.
