Default Bedroom - Blank Canvas Room to This!

Hi all, I started painting my eldest Childs room last week the room was blank with Carpet and timber ceilings only. I've got a few ideas from this site and just wanted to share with ye.

Pictures. I had in the house were canvas so I got the kids to paint them in Cream. I did a stripe effect with Mascan Tape and painted in between to get a striped picture. The Nest of drawers were brown and I painted them in the colours of the room and so also was the Chest of drawers. Thanks to the Before and after site for some great Ideas.

Default Hi

yes It was supposed to be a surprise but the smell of fresh paint gave it away I had the room done at that stage so they got a great kick out of doing the stripped pics. The eldest got the room above and the 2nd little girl got the same colour in hers and is now in her own room with a "Big" bed. All happy campers I'm wrecked from it all the whole house was upside down so I'm off to bed for a well wanted rest.

Default Beautiful!

Amazing job here! I think the colour is BEAUTIFUL and i love the strippy paintings and getting the kids involved.

Here's another tip - the complementary colour to purple/lilac is green, which means that to chose a colours complimentary colour has a mega impact, so......what about getting kids to think of green stuff etc, it will make it all sing so song!!!!

Oh, just remembered, purple and green were the suffragettes colours on their bands they wore, and they are the feminists colours. My twin graduates with a doctorate in purple next month! she was in the womens studies unit of the uni in London.

there you go now!

Default curtains

Hi maggie How very thoughtful of you.. The window for this room is a dormer so curtains don't need to be big. I would love them.

Default Hi

Hi This was very cheap and easy. The colours were in the hardware already mixed and the person they were mixed for did not like them so I got the BIG drum i think 25ltr for 20.00 each. It took a while and I would not do yours 1 room was enough for me - Not a lover of painting. Best of luck let me know how you get on.
