Default Repairs

Hi,
One thing that really annoys me is that usually just after a washing machine, dishwasher, dryer has run out of warranty, something goes wrong with it. Usually this would be the pump. Pump costs not that much, but getting a "repair man" out, costs more than a new machine. I suggest, that we compile a list of trustworthy and reasonably price "handymen", so that we can actually prolong the life-cycle of appliances.

Yes You right but is very hard to find spare parts and you need to go around to find it and to go back again and again...nobody pay travel expenses .But anyway it`s a good idea.

I will pass this on to all my friends. An honest workman should get lots of work out of this. ;-)

Hi bugsbunny,

While JumbleTown is in favour of prolonging the life-cycle of an item, we're not in a position to allow the advertising or requesting of any service such as those offered by handimen or contractors. These services can be found on sites such as...

a while back I learned that most machines have a built in error system to tell the service guy what's wrong, usually it's a flashing light

Example: My washing machine stopped draining, I looked it up on whitegoods website, discovered that the powerlight flashing 11 times meant a blockage in the lines, so, no service needed, just my hubby getting icky
When the dishwasher went on the blink, I found that it was a pump failure, i was able to source a new pump and got a guy to fit it
Both times i saved money, by knowing the problem before calling in the €80 per hour guy to scratch his head and figure it out for me

So, if something goes wrong, count those flashes and look it up, it might save you a few quid
