Default Are compost bins smelly?

I am thinking of getting a compost bin but don't have a big garden so it will be kept around the side of the house. Does anyone with a compost bin have any advice / suggestions for me please? Thanks

They are not smelly as long as you add the right amount of each ingreident, i have one i made from an old wheelie bin and it does not smell.

we put veg peel, empty toilet rolls, cereal boxes ripped into small pieces, tea bags, egg shells, leaves, very small amounts of grass (too much grass can make it smelly and slimy)

never put cooked food in it, weeds are another no no.

this is a great time to start one as there are leaves falling from trees every where.

Loads of websites where you can get info if you google compost bin.

good luck with it
