Default Prudence magazine (recommended reading for thrifty folk)

Hi Everyone,

Gotta say a big thank you to the team at Prudence magazine for the piece on JumbleTown plus a very funky ad in their latest edition.

Prudence came on the scene around the same time as JT and promotes a thrifty ethos just like us. They advocate sustainable living with style.

Though mainly aimed at prudent women, many men have been known to "just flick through it..."

As I say, there's a piece on JumbleTown and a funky (damn it -- sexy!) ad. Worth a look, believe me, but you'll have to buy a copy as the ad is not on their website.

They do, however, have a chat-forum where you can share your views on savvy living in Rip Off Ireland.

Hi Bettybooboopbedoop,

I've just remembered that JumbleTowner unapam (our very own self-styled queen of shabby chic) had an ad a while ago passing on her old copies of Prudence. I hope she won't me quoting her recommendation:

"Ten out of ten. It leaves those other mags at the starting line...and only €2.95. I got a years subscription for just €15-ish. I would urge anyone to sign up for it...

http://www.prudence.ie/subscriptions_prudence.asp

...or get it in local newsagents."

And lest we forget just how prudent (and creative) unapam is, here's a link to one of her most popular threads where she actually used her ESB bill in the making of a fun, decorative item:

Hi unapam,

I think I took the words out of your mouth there by about 30 seconds!

And why not!? Your creative insights into life-cycling and enviro-prudence (er?) deserve recognition. You've also inspired a long line of what can be termed "re-use aristocrats" whose handiwork can also be seen throughout the Green Tips forum.

Thanks to one and all!

Your humble subject
Chris (I'm only too happy to serve) P!
