I'm interested in this as well as I have never grown anything before in my life that has lived for any length of time.
Have my mum saving the larger tin cans from petfood as I like the look of the cans when you take off the labels. I'm hoping to drill a few holes in the bottom and use these to plant herbs inside on kitchen window sill - would these tin cans be big enough???? Also, will the herbs grow ok inside in the kitchen??? |

Sure they will. They may grow even better in the metal cans as the soil will be warmer.
