Default Looking for help with replacing drawstring on jog pants

Hi, everyone, I'm just wondering if any of you could help me get more life out of 2 pairs of jog pants I have, whose drawstrings have snapped and frayed and are now too short to use! I want to know basically where I can get my hands on new string to replace the drawstring as I know how to re-thread it using a wire coat hanger. I have spent almost an hour googling this and all I get are instructions on HOW to re-thread, which I already know, I just want to know where I can get my hands on new cord/string to actually use!

I would appreciate any suggestions from anyone on where to buy some or what to use as an alternative, as there is loads of life left in the actual trousers themselves, but they are useless if they keep falling down lol!

Thanks for reading,

gillo x

Hi Gillo, you can buy cord by the metre in most habadashery stores. Or you could look for old cheap pants in charity shop and remove cords from them. If you knit you could make an i-cord from similar colors and use that. Hope these suggestions help.

Thanks, Smokeyeyes for taking the trouble to reply. I will head into a haberdashery over the weekend and see what I can get, anything is better than binning perfectly wearable trousers!

Try putting up a request in the 'Wanted' section. Someone with an old pair might give you a cord. Also say what colours would suit and whether for ladies or gents. You never know what might turn up for free!

Thanks, I'm sorted now! Re-threaded them this morning with a safety pin and used boot laces! Thank you both for replying! :)
