Default Fixing a bedside lamp

I had this bedside lamp which had been knocked over and the bit that holds the shade was broken. I spent a few days and weeks even walking around looking for something to fit. Finally I found a lid that might do. I cut the top and bottom of the lid, trimmed the inside threads until they were a very tight fit, screwed it down onto the fitting - this took some persuasion. As you can see once the shade and top part were put back on it is a firm fit.
Another little job done.
