Default galway council

I just saw that Galway council have a bulk items collection service, tuesdays and wednesdays depending which side of the city you're on.

It seems the items go straight to landfill without any assesment of whether they have life left in them or not!

Any Galway jumbletowners please put some posters up and save those with good stuff a few quid for the collection.

Also Admin any chance you could get the council to put a link to Jumbletown on their homepage / bulk item collection page???

Thanks, Snowdaisy

Hi Snowdaisy,

Do you mean Galway City Council rather than Galway County Council? The former collects bulky items twice weekly....

...while the latter is having a WEEE collection on the 13th December:

Both local authorities in Galway gave some marketing support to JumbleTown last year in the form of funding from the Local Agenda 21 Scheme, so they know that we exist. Some local authorities only link to government/public websites so that may be the reason that a link to JumbleTown is not included. (Links to all of the local authorities on the island of Ireland can be found at the top and bottom of JumbleTown's Home Page.)

Thanks for the information and feedback.

Regards

Hi kiara,

Every local authority in the State knows about us. Since 2006, we've applied to them for Local Agenda 21 funding to place ads on local radio and in local/regional newspapers once a year. Last year, 15 of the 34 local authorities in the State gave us some funding and support.

a. Kildare County Council
b. Kilkenny County Council
c. Clare County Council
d. Limerick City Council
e. Limerick County Council
f. Cork County Council
g. Offaly County Council
h. Louth County Council
i. South Tipperary County Council
j. Longford County Council
k. Galway City Council
l. Galway County Council
m. Meath County Council
l. Wexford County Council
m. Sligo Borough Council
