ORIGINAL POST 15/10/08

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that JumbleTown has been short-listed for the Green Awards 2008 (Community Section).

We're up against stiff competition for this award. Here's the short-list:

- Ballymun Regeneration
- Claremorris Tidy Towns
- Ennis Tidy Towns
- Macroom-E
- Transition Town Kinsale
- JumbleTown

The final results will be announced in December 2008. We'll let you know how we get on. More details on the Green Awards and the other categories can be found here:

http://www.greenawards.ie/

And just in case you missed it, JumbleTown won the Green Community Award at the Envirocom Awards in September.

Nope -- that's the Golden Spiders Net Award, unapam, which has a "Best Social Networking and Community Site/People's Choice" category.

More details on this later.

Default Let's get down to what's really important!

Is there an awards ceremony Chris P.? If so, can all us jters put on our glad rags and go too - in support of course? That'd be some crack. Sure I'm that small someone could put me in their pocket and smuggle me in!! Seriously though, well done and hope ye get it. I can't get into that other link that we can vote on or is it closed?

Hi bluecurlygirl,

The awards ceremony is on in early December in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin.

Default Jumbletown Short listed for Green Awards

Having only lived in Ireland for 3 years and previously in the uk I would nominate Jumbletown for its environmental contribution which way surpasses anything in Great Britain,
Keeping my fingers crossed that you make it to the top as you deserve it.
From one of your most frequent users.
Good Luck

Hi Dalespat,

Many thanks for your kind words and support.

We did launch a JumbleTown.co.uk website at the same time as JumbleTown.ie but we took it down after a few days when we realised that managing the website for the island of Ireland was a monstrous task in itself! We might relaunch the UK site when we are more fully established in Ireland.

Thanks again!
