Default Two antique chairs

These are two chairs given by Ludo. One is almost at completion stage, the other I have done nothing with yet. I completly stripped off the old fabric, stripped down with nitromorris, neutralised with white spirit. If this piece was in better condition it would have benefitted hugely from being french polished but the marks ran too deep for it to be worthwhile. It got a good dollop of boiled linseed oil as it was so dry. The stuffing (horsehair) and webbing was fine, I removed the soft stuffing and found it did not need to be replaced. I glued the back pieces and replaced the wooden dowels. The fabric is pink damask that my mother had in the house. The cost of restoration was 14 euro, I only had to buy the paint/ varnish stripper.

Hi Penelope, those chairs are going to be fabulous when they're done, good on you for giving them a new lease of life. Best regards, Shonastar
