Default tyres to swing

My father made swings for us as kids done the same for mine.thought you all might like it.used old tyres for the seats and used industrial shelving for the framework bit of cutting and welding and a few hours later happy kids.
I only bought the chains.just to be safe.

isnt that a great idea instead of buying plastic ones , does making the handles / straps weaken the swing in any way ? lovely job and happy children ☺

Not really I left about 2inches of the tyre where it would sit on the rim.
Also had a go of it myself my weight is about 12 stone.also inspect it on a regular basis just to be extra safe.😊
