Default Revamped Telephone Table

This is a lovely telephone table I got from Jumbletowner Scalea a couple of months ago. I'd been hoping to find something like this for ages as they can look really great revamped.

I sanded it down really well, primed it and painted it a dark aubergine colour from Colortrend. The fabric is from Ikea. This was a really easy job and only cost about 25 euro and I still have loads of paint left. I'm super happy with the result!

That is stunning, and inspirational. I have a sad looking corner table at home, thats really just gathering dusk (layers of the stuff!) but I'm gonna have a go at it next week and see what I can do! What kind of paint did you use by the way? Is it a gloss or just ordinary wall paint?

That is gorgeous. You wouldn't know it was the same table at all. Well done.

Default telephone table

Thanks everyone, glad you all like it so much! Jenbear - the paint is a waterbased paint from Colortrend for woodwork and I think metal. I don't think ordinary wall paint would work as it might peel off, definitely one to ask the hardware store person as you can really mess up these kinds of jobs using the wrong paint.

Default Wood

Hi Smart,

I love your telephone table. I got one very similar on jumbletown too and I've been wanting to do the same thing. Was yours solid wood though? - mine's a veneer and it's a little chipped at the edges so I'm afraid to sand it, it's been sitting there for months now.

Default painting veneer

Hiya this one is also veneered and was chipped along some edges. I sanded it with no problems, starting with a pretty rough paper and then going down to a more fine paper to make it really smooth. I was just careful along the edges where is was chipped. Mine also sat in a sorry state for months before I finished it but it felt good when it was done and now I get to look at it every time I come in the door!.
