Default old shelving revamped and new under stairs storage

Hi,

Our understairs cupboard has been a disaster zone since we moved in. We keep so much stuff in it and can never find what we want!!!!

My sister had left this shelving in my parents shed about 8 years ago and it was just left there to rot. The cats had been using it as a scratching post and it was wet and mouldy from a leaking roof!

I thought it'd be perfect :)

I dismantled it and brought it home and re-assembled in a height that would suit the cupboard and let it dry out for a few days. When it was dry i scrubbed it and gave it a light sand. Then I gave it a coat of white gloss to make it brighter and more hard wearing.

I just moved it in today and spent hours sorting out stuff!!!! so here it is and I know this isn't an original idea but I've sorted out all our bits using old Dolmio jars screwed to the underneath of the stairs. Organised at last ;)

Well done! I might take on the jars idea to free up a kitchen cupboard, thanks.

Ingenious! I have seen the jamjar idea before but they were under kitchen wall cabinets, but works anywhere suitable, great idea under the stairs! Great use of space.

Great idea. Nice use of space. Amazing what you can do with a bit of old shelving!
