Default Getting rid of unwanted furniture

Hi,

Totally new to this but wanted info on what to do :

Have a couch, 2 armchairs & 6 dining chairs (all in good condition) .... don't want them anymore as moving back into apartment having been away for many years....

How do we give them away ? Can we give them to a charity - do they arrange pick up as no car/transport!

All suggestions welcome - thanks

Hi sryan,

You could try giving them away for free on JumbleTown.

The link below will bring you to the Furniture forum. Click on the "Add New Item" button at the top left of the Furniture forum and give details plus a photo of the item you wish to pass on. Potential Takers will express their interest on your ad/thread. Choose whomever you like -- you can pick the first or even last respondent, or the person who can collect the soonest or is nearest. Then arrange a mutually convenient time for the Taker to collect. You should not write your real name or contact details on the public forum. Instead, you should click on a Member's User Name and send them a Private Message (PM), which is a bit like email but the messages on stored/hidden on the JumbleTown system. You will receive an automated email if/when someone expresses interest in your items. The User Tips post is located near the top of all the Givers' forums.

Most charities don't accept furniture because of the expense involved in collecting and storing items. However, Oxfam in Francis Street, Dublin do accept furniture.
