Hi,
The wonderful weather last Winter got behind the exterior paint on my cottage, which means that I now have the job of removing it all before re-painting. Any suggestions for the best way to remove the paint? Some of it is scraping off nicely, but obviously there are parts that are so well stuck I can't get rid of them.
The top coat (done last Summer) is Weathershield, not sure what's under it.
All suggestions will be tried!
Thanks,
Tod.

local painter here, powers-hoses, then see him with painter scraper and wire brush. Hope this is of Help. I also power hose wall beside house to remove paint that's peeling and brush over with wire brush too.. Works for me..........

Our cottage was so bad that we have been using the power-hose and a electric sander, hard work but it pays to do it right in the long term.

Not very green though as it uses water and electricity.

Hi Tod
Not sure you should worry about those parts; your power washer and scrapers should do the job for the part which is peeling off; if you can use some form of primer (at least 1 coat) and then paint again with the weathershield (2 coats would be best, you don't use as much with the 2nd coat anyway), I'd say it should be fine...
