I have learned my lesson,LOL. While I was in my jam making phase I was determined to get maximum value out of everything, so after peeling and slicing apples for jam I bolied up a saucepan of apple peel and cores, simmered till they were soft, drained all the liquid out through muslin and collected lovely pectin to help with setting further batches. Popped the container in the freezer and forgot about it.
Yesterday I decided to make some scotch broth and added a container of 'frozen chicken stock' from the freezer. Yep you've guessed--I got a lovely 'set' on my soup.Ha Ha. Anyone for a slice of scotch broth??
In future I will label everything.

Hilarious!! A lesson indeed. Reminds me of a cousin in the UK who bought a pile of canned food in her local supermarket (in the 80's) without labels, and marked down to just a few pence each. She bought a pile thinking what a great 'bargain'. Well, needless to say they dined for weeks on tinned peaches, pears etc., before she actually got to anything resembling meat, beans or peas!!! Even then she wasn't sure whether the meat was for human or animal consumption!! Those were the days of Fray Bentos!! :)
