For the first time ever, I bought a mirror in a charity shop and decided I wasn't going to do anything to it. I was going to hang it up, in all it's golden glory. However, my little one had other ideas and dropped it on the ground, breaking it into 3 pieces. So instead it got a smidge of 'No more nails' a lick of paint, and is as good as new!

Thanks everyone! I'm very superstitious by nature, so was thrilled not to have broken the mirror itself (afaik you bury the pieces in a red spotted hankerchief to avoid bad luck!!)
