Charitable way to pay for postage :)

I was offering items yesterday that somebody wanted posted and instead of them paying me for postage, I'll be taking care of postage and all I asked in return was that they make a donation by credit card (not sure if they accept laser?) of at least €5 to http://www.animalcaresociety.ie/store/donate.htm

So they made the donation (of €10!! :)) and forwarded the donation confirmation that they received after donating, to my email address which I PM'd them. This included their name and address which I can post the items to.

No credit card information is in the donation confirmation so nothing to worry about there!

Just a convenient and charitable way to take care of posting things which will hopefully catch on ;)

Recently a member gave me something and kindly offered to pay the postage as it was lightwieght. This week I am giving something to someone in another county and I have offered to pay the postage and suggested that later on she can "Pass it on" when she is giving something to someone. It saves the time, bother and cost of getting address and posting the postage stamps. Probably works best for items not weighing much.

I am including An Post's current charges for packets to give you an idea of the cost for different weights.

Under 50 gr €2.10
Under 100gr €2.10
under 250 gr €2.60
Under 500 gr €3.70
under1 kg €5.70

Rates for other weights can be found on the An Post website here:
