Congratulations to all at Boards.ie, which has won the 2008 Golden Spider Award for Best Social Networking/Community Website (the People's Choice/Public Vote).

Boards.ie has over 100,000 Members and for over a decade has provided dozens of forums where a huge range of topics are discussed. A worthy winner!

About the Golden Spider Awards:
The eircom Golden Spider Awards are the most prestigious web awards in Ireland. Thanks for the...er...votes (ahem!). Public votes are funny things -- just look at the Eurovision, we haven't won since they introduced public voting. I do know, however, that we have our work cut out, as we're up against formidable competition -- real David and Goliath stuff. All of the nominated sites are excellent in their own field and some of them have an international membership and are backed by seeeeerious money. Others have a few years headstart and have Memberships of over 100,000. So, our job is simply just to encourage folks to vote and may the most popular site win!
