I want daisies!!

Actually, I like daisies (in contrast to another post here!). Is there a way to manage lawns to encourage daisies (and dandelions while I'm at it).

I'm with you on this one Ruthy, best way I can manage to keep them is to hide the lawmower from my husband - or siphon the petrol out...(I hate neat lawns) .I don't think they need anything special, just not to be cut off in their prime!

hi ruthy, i too love the dasies, they are everywhere at the moment and look so pretty, i wouldnt cut them down if they were in my garden.

i have a question about a plant, a bean stalk plant.
my son planted this in school and brought it home moaning that it wouldnt grow, but i took it on and its already about 12 inches in a week :-)

and two other buds growing too.
my question is, how high do they grow and how do i keep them stright cause this one is so tall now that its flopping to one side.

any idea?

Far as I know beans need support, like a frame or bamboo cane, so the flopping over without support is normal (unlike in Jack and the Beanstalk...). Try some kind of cane support, tie the bean (not too tight) to the cane, should be ok.

Thanks for the daisy advice, will ease off on the mowing (always looking for an excuse).

after the grass is cut coupl days later all de lovely daisys come up makes the garden look like a summer garden so pretty :)

High fertile sites / lawns with new grass seed do not have daisies, but old lawns have both daisies and dandilions. ( lawns sprayed with weed killers dont have daisies (weeds) either.
Just keep cutting the lawn + the daisies will grow naturally. keep the grass short. Dont add fertilizer
I cut the lawn regularly but let the grass fall back on the lawn, after a while the animals / bacteria that eat organic matter like earthworms etc. will increase in number and digest the grass cuttings.

My wife hates daisies, but I'm delighted to meet someone who likes natural lawns that grow the way God meant them to grow.
