Hi I have 2 girls dresses one silk and one satin. one is a flower girl dress and one a communion one. I hung them in a dark wardrobe in a plastic cover and thought they'd be ok but got them out to give them away and found they'd gone yellow in places!
Does anyone know if i can get this out .... dont want to pay for drycleaning as they were cleaned before i put them away but dont think anyone would want them like this and they are beautiful dresses

why not add a little bleach to the water and it would whiten them back

I found the following online, in my experience most things are washable!
If you are going to store silk or any delicate clothes again, it's worth buying or making cotton covers instead of using the plastic. Good luck!
'First, check the label on your fabric to ensure that it is washable. If it is, you should by able to remove the yellow stains by soaking the article in warm water with a few denture tablets overnight, then launder as usual. Or, combine a tablespoon each of white vinegar, salt, and water softener with one pint of water, dip area up and down in solution, rinse well and launder. Or, rub white non-gel toothpaste into the spot and wash in cold water. If the fabric is unwashable, you will need to have it dry-cleaned.'

Thanks for ye're help ... much appreciated, Checked labels the flower girls one is 100% silk - dry clean only and the communion dress has no label ... its satin though and has only a few marks was in a better bag supplied by dress shop so might chance cleaning that myself.
Thanks again
