My doors are ROTTEN and warped.

he minnie pal, i am just wondering why not do like we do down here go to your local window/door maker and ask him does he have any doors that were made for a job and were the wrong size
now if you have your sizes with you you will end up getting it a lot cheaper than if you had to order 1 as its now considered second hand

Thanks for answering ye three!
Cathy, I look forward to hearing from you soon and also a chap from this site too, contacted about doors too.
I will also take up the suggestion of finding a retailer who has 'odd' doors lying around!
thanks for pulling out all the stops. This is keeping my spirits up as they have flagged and dipped a bit recently, as its all exhausing and seems to go on forever.
I LOVE this site!!!

There is a FREE to advertise in booklet called Local Trader... it comes out every tuesday for friday... and costs €2.50 to buy... its a great book and has a wide following... and you can advertise anything ...cars , jobs, animals you name it... there is also a wanted section ....

All you have to is decide on what you are going to text, and text it before 12 o clock on a Monday morning... text to 087 7761302 or call / fax 041 6858333/ 6856888 or email localtrader@hotmail.com....

Dont give your home number only a mobile number!!!!

Its worth a try, especially as it wont cost you anything...

Munster joinery are still going strong, they cover the whole country. Could be worth ringing them, a big company like them could have loads of odd doors lying around.

Hi Minnie Pal

We got patio doors from Munster Joinery about 3 years ago and though I can't remember the price I know they were less than we thought it would be. Call them and ask for a quote for the size you need. You may be surprised and at least it will give you a comparison price if you find second hand.

Best of luck

Try salvage yards. If you are in Dublin, the best is macs, www.macswarehouse.ie. They have lots of windows and patio doors - some new, some used. Also, there is a window company called Ulster Misfits, they advertise in buy and sell. They sell off windows and doors that were made up slightly the wrong size for a job - very good prices.
