I run a local paper here in Wexford, so really should be promoting the site more. Next Thursday gonna be my first one - will turn the page into a jpg and show you all - (hangs head in shame, was supposed to do this about 2.5 years ago and never got around to it!!!)
Is that ok with Chris & Dave -a little free advert???? Am sure you won't refuse free advertising, but just to be sure!!!!!

Poppy 11-06-2009 10:57 AM

Hiya
Im in Wexford, so lets know what paper it is and I'l be sure to buy it and have a look. Good luck

Milky_moo 11-06-2009 12:47 PM

Poppy, it's the Free Press -- so you don't have to buy it!!!!!

Dave Hagan 11-06-2009 01:11 PM

Free adverts are always welcome Milky_moo, thanks very much.

Even better! will keep my eyes open for it. thanks

Sabrinabray 11-06-2009 05:50 PM

Milky_moo is writing a piece
We will all be in it
Oh this is so exciting
Now it just is innit!

Poppy will get the paper
And frame it for the wall
Then she will take a pic
And send it to us all

Dave Hagan gave permission
bluecurlygirl will take an ad
She will invite us all
Down to her pad

Greeneyes, maufant and paprika
They all confessed on line
To being JT addicts
Now that is just fine

Summersun, magiceight and katga
The stuck the oar in too
cavalin, keno and phoenix1
Supported the addicts through and true

jenniferalan and ned2009
They popped in to say the same
baileyqueen, Bibi and kiwicooke
Agreed it is good game

ronaldomanu wrote a verse
and nono loved Milky_moo's poem
Next thing she will be inviting her
Down to her Galway home

Poppy 11-06-2009 08:00 PM

Im honoured to get a mention
even though Im sure that was not your main intention!

Haha very good sabrinabray, all very gifted people here, unfortunitly i'm awaiting an imagination in the post lol

nono 12-06-2009 02:15 AM

Thankyou so much Sabrinabray,
You really have made my day.
To see my name mentioned with such decorum,
on this really welcoming public forum.
This is my very first attempt at a verse,
so please, please no-one reply with a curse.

As to the invitation,
its extended to far and near,
I'll supply the tea, you supply the beer.
Theres a genuine welcome for one and all,
Here we dont stand to attention,
Just come down and call.

The only visitior so far to call
Has been Paprika, baby and all.
Her baby is gorgeous, so sweet and petite,
A bonnier baby you'll find it hard to meet.
So all you JT'rs, Galways a lovely town,
Dont be shy, just get yourselves down.

Milky_moo 12-06-2009 07:33 AM

Thanks Jennifer. Wow Nono!!!!! fab poem!!!!!!!!

bluecurlygirl 12-06-2009 08:42 AM

Nono - first attempt at a verse? It certainly doesn't sound like it. Well done. That's excellent stuff. God I'd love a trip to Galway before I go. Lived there for 3 and a half years and I miss it so much every now and then - especially for the arts festival and the macnas parade! Was stuck in the middle of that a few years too - great crack.

nono 17-06-2009 01:22 AM

More Thankyou's from Galway

Hi MilkyMoo & Bluecurlygirl,

Thanks so much for your kind comments. My dad could write a ditty at a moments notice about virtually anything. That was my first and last attempt. It took me til now to look at the thread, kept thinking 'Oh my gawd, what have I done'. Definately wont be venturing down that road again. Anyway again thanks a mill.

Very Best Wishes, Nono

bluecurlygirl 17-06-2009 10:46 AM

Oh Nono, don't give up like that. It was a great verse and if that was your first one you've obviously got a natural talent. Keep it up.

kiwicooke 05-07-2009 09:52 PM

Haha, Me too, I think Chris P should set up an online JA meeting lol (jumbletown annoymous)

especially when you have somehing to offer or if you have expressed your interest in something and your checking for updates, I seem to be a thread stalker eswel, so Chris a JA meeting is needed over here in Tullamore lol

OK. sparkwell
will do ! do I get lessons in this brilliant poetery?

summersun 06-02-2010 10:11 PM

Ha Holly :-)

You are now trapped in the twilight jumbletown zone.... where life and days run into each other ... with you believing that you have been only sat at the computer for a matter of minutes.... rather than a whole day...

THERE IS NO CURE.... but we are a happy if somewhat mad bunch.... at least i am ...

In my life before jumble town i would happily go to bed around 9 ish... now it can be nearly midnight and i still havent a dirty dish washed nor much else achieved but having loads of fun trawling through all the sections looking for things that i never knew that i wanted or needed!!!! and busy chatting back and forth to various jters''

So enjoy your addiction... we could all be addicted to a lot worse :-)

addiction to Jumbletown

See there has not been any posts since 2010 so heres my tuppence worth...I have to admit it ....I am also addicted to Jumbletown....It is truly a community and I have also met such lovely people since i joined !! Have donated and sent items to people and likewise have received many items both in the post and collected them too from lovely people. Thanks to all who contacted me since I joined. I love checking in for items I am looking for....wardrobes this week since I have someone going up to Dublin and Wicklow with a van who could collect a wardrobe for me but still havent seen an ad for one...fingers crossed someone will post before Friday !!

Anyhow, have mentioned Jumbletown lots of time to people and have posted it on Facebook too.....wouldnt a facebook page for jumbletown be a good idea ? What does everyone else think of that ?

Thanks for helping to spread the word!

There actually is a Facebook page for JumbleTown but it's inactive -- we have too much on our plate managing the site itself. Who knows, we might get round to using it at a later stage when time and resources allow.

Thanks for the feedback, miss lilac!
