Lotions and potions

Any ideas of how to pass on unwanted but perfectly good lotions, creams and perfumes? I know they can't be passed on via Jumbletown, what do other people do with them when doing a clearout? Seems a shame to throw them out...

Lotions

I cannot understand why JT won't allow Sealed items to be listed on here!!! I listed something last week not realising I could not!! and quite a few people were interested!! Surely if sealed and has not been opened is grand!! :)

Hi free4all,

This topic was discussed by Members and Admin a couple of years ago in the following Support Forum thread:

http://www.jumbletown.ie/forums/showthread.php?t=31962

Our policy has not changed since then and most probably will not in the future. We'll inform Members if there is any change in the site's policy. Till then, the Giving and Taking of all cosmetics, perfumes, lotions and potions (sealed or otherwise) is prohibited on JumbleTown.

depending on ther scent you could rub some onto ur rads for a nice smell or onto a damp cloth and drape on the inside of the rads it slowly releases the scent, this is what i do .

Lotions etc

Our local charity shops take them so yours probably do too. Give them a ring and see.

Thanks!

Wow, I didn't realise this post was still attracting replies til I stumbled upon it by mistake! Thanks guys for the great ideas, I didn't realise at the time that charity shops take them, I'll bear that in mind for the future.

I have always given mine to charity shops and church fundraisers. The churches will have Christmas sales/bazaars etc coming up over the next few months.

some may be used for elderly

suggest you offer to charities like "friends of the elderly' or nursing homes etc.
these sort of gifts go down well, there is 'hand therapy' where people are trained to soothe hands with creams, that is elderly hands, it is relaxing for them.
perfumes, make them feel part of the real world as they connect with that well since they did just as every young person did.
sometimes people forget that their senses have not died with the wrinkles.
all elderly enjoy what they enjoyed in youth and middle aged.
pass on, never dump. pass on please. Age concern is another too, and St. Vincent's de Paul

one reason MRSA!

never thought of this!
but that too can be got from shopping trolleys. maybe do the mrsa protocol...i wont even GO there!
still contaminated by the way, with MRSA!
