Change to Wanted Ad Guidelines
 

there really needs to be an area section here... or people posting in the title what area they are in... have a good few things but then realise they are so so far away....

Hi angle face,

As I've said on a few other threads in the Support Forum, the Wanted forum was very much an afterthought and never intended to play a major role on JumbleTown (i.e., not cause extra work for Admin!). The site is more about "I have this item -- do you want/need it?" rather than "I want/need this item -- do you have it?"

The Managers of the site have no intention of changing the format of the Wanted forum.

However, I've changed the instructions to posters re: the Ad Title that appears on the Wanted Listings page. Whereas before it read:

'The title of a Wanted ad should contain the name of the item itself (Member's location is optional) and nothing else.'

...it now reads:

'The title of a Wanted ad should contain the name of the item itself plus the Member's location in brackets ... and nothing else.
e.g. Double Bed (Dublin 8)'

Thanks for the feedback, angle face. It will probably take a while for Members to notice/follow the new guideline, but we'll see what happens.
