Re rainwater harvesting
Hi everyone.
Please, would anyone know where i can get a largish plastic tank for harvesting rainwater, cheap or better still free. Has anyone else done this and could I get a bit of advice. Thanks in advance |
Water Butt
Hi, I bought a 190L butt for €40 from Dublin City Council, have a look at their website. It was very easy to fit & fills up in no time.

I have several of the 'water cubes' the same as advertised on Donedeal.
A word of advice: whilst they are ideal for catching the water, if you don't lightproof them the water quickly goes green & smelly. I used old compost bags, split open & threaded between the metal cage & the cube, black side outter-most. It cuts out about 90% of the light as they are overlapped. MW |

I went on a rainwater harvesting course in co clare on saturday, they covered all that so you are spot on. By the way the course was fantastic and cost only 25 euro, I wonder could i put the details on here, they also do a course on building a wind turbine. Thanks again everyone |

Hello Chris p
here are the web details, www.imecofarm.com ,the fellow is called eddie, the course was fantastic for the price and they went into everything to do with setting up the rainwater system, ie running the whole house on under 2000 litres of water and how to set it up and running, and you can use many small barrels linked together, they show how to do this too, but iwas more interested in just linking two of them 1000 litrre tanks, the clear ones. I can't recommend the course enough. Regards |
