A Funky Upcycled Table
2 Attachment(s)
Hi All,
This is my first Before and After post ever but not my first project, I'm always redoing something, just to make it my own. To fit in with my colour scheme at the minute or to make something look a bit fresher. This is a table I bought for ten euro, I would have prefered to get it on here for free !!! But as everyone on here knows things aren't always suitable or if they are what you want, sometimes there are too far away. I think I would like to add a little knob and maybe a wooden trim to make it look like theres a drawer. Let me know what you think. And if you have any pieces in the West that you want to pass on to me I'd be delighted. I'm just about to start a nursery, and I'm looking for bun legs or similar for a childs couch, I'm also a bit of a magpie, love shiney things and I regularly spray things gold ! Also love fabrics. Awaiting your opinions, Cat101 |
Uploading Photos a Nightmare !
No joke that took me about 3 hours to upload those two photos, hopefully I've got the nack now and I'l be able to upload more projects.

Lovely job Cat101. I personally think its fine without a knob but if you really want something at the front could I suggest maybe some stencilling. My sleeves are always catching on doorknobs in my house so that's why I'm kinda anti-knobs! :-) Could be because our doorknobs are high and I'm quite short!! How did you do the top of the table?

Great Job. I agree, it doesn't really need a knob but if you use gold leaf and put on a very fine stencil to complement the top that might be better.
Item 195 if you scroll down on this link might give you an idea (but yours will be a bit more delicate me thinks ;)) http://www.willishenry.com/Estates%2...ate176-200.htm |
Yep Mickey that's what I had in my mind too. Looking forward to see what you decide, Cat101.

Thanks for the lovely coments
Thanks everyone for the lovely coments. The top is wallpaper, I just turned the table upside-down onto the paper and traced around it then glued it down. I didn't seal it with anything as its not a table we use, it's more for decoration. We used two pieces of this paper on the walls and a complementary stripe in the same colour on our larger wall.
I like the item 195, Mikey, but like you said maybe a bit more delicate. I on the other hand do like knobs, TickTock, as I said I'm a bit of a magpie !!! I like shiny ones and gold ones and ones that have tassles hanging off them, but each to their own !! The main reason I havn't put one on is that they're almost a tenner in woodies thats the price of the table !!! Thanks Chris I got it in the end, I think it took me so long because it was late and I was tired. Cause I'd looked at the tutorial a few times and I was missing something, but I succeeded so I'l be able to do it again. Thanks again everyone, Cat101 |
Fantastic choice of colours. I agree with Mickey about stenciling rather than a drawer knob.
