Table saw from the Motor of a Washing Machine?
Has anybody tried to make a table Saw from the Motor of a Washing Machine.?

If you google this some info comes up relating to powering a bike with a washing machine motor but table saws are mentioned. I don't know if there's any info there that you are looking for as I didn't understand most of the technical terms.

I Googled it before but like you could not understand all the Techno stuff.

We made a wirebrush and grindstone from one of those a few years back and it is even more powerful than the factory type ones.It seized up eventually due to lack of use but lasted years.
I dont see why it shouldnt work for a table saw even if only used for plywood etc....You need to make sure there is a safety cut off switch and a guard around any shaft in case anything gets wrapped around it and just mind your fingers eh? |

Curious to hear how you are getting on with your project. My research seem to point to the need for 3 hp for a table saw. Any washing machine motors i found had max 1/2 hp output. What size blade / number of teeth were you thinking about? rgds |
