Pompom Rug: The Making of ...
6 Attachment(s)
I received a gorgeous bag of wool from eenmenyminymoe before Easter earmarked for a lovely big pompom rug for my youngest daughter's room.
I was hoping to get the whole extended family involved in making them as we were all away together with NO TV or WIFI(!!!!) Quality control turned out to be a HUGE issue for me and so I have resigned myself to doing it my own self. Hence the snails' pace now adopted. I plan to use the legs of large denims for the backing as this is both durable and washable and I can sew a few large legs together and shape and hem it in whatever shape we finally decide. These are a few pics of the pompoms so far (even those that have not passed muster). More pics to follow when I get around to doing the assembly etc. |
This looks great how do you join them together?

I plan to sew them individually with a darning needle to a denim base. |

Love your idea Mickey. I'm a knitter and always have ends of wool left over and usually use them to make crochet blankets/cushion covers. Would love to give your idea a go during the winter nights. very colourful.
